J. V. Ramana Murthi (Telugu: జె. వి. రమణమూర్తి) is an eminent Indian stage and film actor.[1] He is younger brother of J. V. Somayajulu.

He was born on 20 May 1933 in Vizianagaram district. He started acting in playlets since his school days. He got the best performance award for "Vishwa Shanti" of Athreya in Interuniversity Competitions. He has acted in many plays liked N.G.O., Evaru Donga, Kappalu, Natakam, Keerthi Seshulu, Kaala Rathri, Phani, Katamraju Katha and toured the entire state and won accolades. His most remarkable performance is Gireesham in Kanyasulkam of Gurajada Appa Rao. He also directed the play and performed record number of times with appreciation from the audiences.[2]
K. B. Tilak gave him chance to enter Telugu filmdom with M. L. A. in 1957. Subsequently he has acted in about 150 films and played varied characters effectively.
